Research June 2023

Congratulations to Dr Mays Abuhantash on successfully defending her PhD thesis “Targeting HOXA in engineered iPSCs and pre-clinical leukaemia models”. Also for getting all corrections completed and approved in time to graduate this summer.

Mays made blood cells that glow red when a cancer-causing gene is switched on AND identified a drug that may stop that from happening.

Thanks to the Nottinghamshire Leukaemia Appeal Betty Barton Studentship for funding this future leader.
